Try to develop a sense of humor, so that she can see that you are a fun guy. Also, take her out to someplace fun (probably family orientated -- not too wild), where she can be herself and doesn't have to be uptight and proper all of the time. Don't tell her where you are going -- women seem to like a pleasant surprise.
And do NOT act desperate or nervous. People HATE feeling like they are being pressured into a relationship. If you are pursuing her too hard, then she will run away. Try to act a little indifferent as to whether she loves you or not, it's all good. Keep her guessing at first whether you like her just as a friend or maybe more. Women seem to like a little mystery. Just keep it light and fun.

I almost forgot, as most people above have suggested, pay attention to what she likes and give her something that shows that you know something about her. Women like it if you pay attention to her, and women like gifts that imply that you put some time and thought into it. Notice that I said THOUGHTFUL gift, not necessarily expensive (too expensive puts pressure on her to reciprocate, and she might think that you are too extravagant and unpractical with your money).
Also, it is not a good idea to give a practical person gifts if it is not her birthday or some other occasion that calls for it (unless it is something small and inexpensive that she said that she needs). Just acting like a gentlemman, and droping her a note now and then to let her know that you were thinking of her (but not too mushy -- fake romance is a turn off) usually impresses any girl. Women like to know that you were thinking of them often.

I am also practical and to the point. I know that what I appreciate the most is when he does something that says he was listening to me... he's paying attention to what means the most to me... he wants to learn more about those things that are important to me.
What are her interests? Her passions? Is it food and wine? Cook for her, match wine to it, or take her to a WineMaker's Dinner at a local winery.
Is it children? The poor? The uneducated? Ask her how she'd feel about the two of you volunteering together in a Head Start classroom, at a local elementary school as reading/literacy companions, collecting food for the local food pantry or shelter, or working with adults doing literacy training in Adult Education classes through your local Cooperative Extension agency.
Is it saving the planet? Start a compost heap, spend a few hours collecting recycling from the side of the road and dropping it off at a recycling center, put a brick in your toilet to conserve water and turn off all the lights you're not using. Use public transportation when you can and suggest that you take Metro on your next date for that reason if you live in a metropolitan area.
Is there a subject she's passionate about? Is there a seminar or teaching on that subject coming to your area any time soon? Get her a ticket. Get two and go with her. Sit and listen to the drone of a professor's voice while he discusses the fine points of genetics in a rare disorder if it's her passion and you know nothing about it.
Is she into healthy living? Live healthier. Suggest that you guys go for a walk, hike, run, workout at the gym, visit healthy restaurants and vegetarian restaurants instead of AppleBee's and TGIFridays for deep fried fat. Or better yet, pack a picnic dinner and camp out under the stars with a homemade healthy picnic dinner that you selected or prepared all by yourself.
Does she have a favorite artist? Musician? Author? Love the stage? Murder mysteries? Think tickets... to an art show, gallery opening, concert, book-signing, dinner theatre.
Basically... get to know her passion and feed it appropriately. Any clown can pick up flowers. It takes a special clown to pick up signals, information and cues and then act on them with her in the forefront of his brain :)

Surprise her with something with which you have made some degree of effort. Like, make her dinner or something. Romance and flowers don't work on a practical woman. Bring over her favorite movie to watch on DVD. Has she been talking about something that she needs? (like a coffee maker or a new grill or whatever...) You can get her something practical like that. Deeds work best for practical women, not silly extravagant things like flowers (which will just die).

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL,,, am a gurl so if u wanna win a woman's heart , u have to at least have some look u can not win it if u are fugly , secondly making a gurl sure to be so pretty is so important and some times u have to pretent that if she talkes to some one else u feel jalous about it :D buy her stuff is so cool not flowers c'mon in70's guys used to work on a gurl by flowers not any more ;)

Get to know what she's into and go from there. Practical? No flowers? How about a plant? Plant a tree together! Or a rose bush. Does she like to shop in thrift shops and antique stores? Find out her secret passion and go for it! Yes...she does have one...Godloveya.

She's looking for security.
Be as practical and focused as you can possibly be. Handle your financial affairs in a stable, mature and responsible manner. Let her know that. Handle your life in a very focused manner.
Show her you love her in all the very small ways. Easy things you can do. Help her with the dishes, the cleaning, the cooking. Don't lavish grand gifts on her. She really doesn't want them.'
