Councillor No 1: insulted people outwith his ward by calling them idiots in a press release. Councillor No 2 broke the secrecy rules of an association and bleated to his colleages and the Executive when asked to resign. Councillor No 3 has reportedly the worst ward in which to bring up children? yet he is repeatedly voted in albeit by a small vote count of around 180 votes. The Executive is to pay out large financial Golden Handshakes to retiring Councillors, many of whom are employed in day jobs or have large pensions or are company directors, Why Why Why. Money is best spent on the people and not in Golden Handshahkes, any retiring Councillor has been paid their expenses and work they diid on any council was their unpaid civic duty.

Most local councillors are good people - or no worse than the rest of us anyway... I am a school governor and there are 3 cllrs on the governing body, one is really good, one is nice but a bit dim and one is pompous man but they all put a lot of time into it one way or another, out every night at meetings and getting a lot of stress.
They are not elected because they are saints or heros, but because people vote for them: that's democracy!

If you have specific complaints about individual councillors then complain to the Council leader or the leader of that councillor's party group. There is an organisation called the Standards Board that you can complain to if councillors are lying, insulting or corrupt (they prosecuted Ken Livinstone for racist remarks).

If you disagree with the policies of the council or the behaviour of the ruling group, then the answer is to vote for someone else at election time or even be a candidate yourself.

We don't have to tolerate them. Either campaign against them and encourage others to stand as an independent or join their party and work against them from the inside. It's not difficult where local councillors are concerned as their branch meetings are attended by few members.

Tolerance only applies if the civil liberties of others are not to any extent further encroached on. a human being that has sex with toddlers is unquestionably encroaching on the youngster's civil liberties. On a own be conscious, i trust pedophiles ought to receive the death penalty. there is no rehab for persons that try this. no count number what, they're going to be able to bear in mind the ideas of doing it and could ultimately do it again. the only thanks to shop our youthful toddlers danger-free is to execute those predators.

Power corrupts, ultimate power corrupts ultimately. They all all corrupt, giving out favours to friends and collecting tax free "expenses". They travel half way around the world just to see how people overseas fart. Then come back and write a report on it!
