I currently like this guy who seems to be grieving over his last relationship, he says he loves her but is not in love with her. when he's around her they get along for one day then the next day they are fighting. He says he doesn't want to be with her though. If he doesn't why is he grieving?

everyone needs a grieving process, and yes it is normal to still love someone and not be in love with them. dont worry about it

Depends, if you like this a guy as friend and you love spending loads of time listening to his problems then fine go ahead
otherwise you may find yourself second-place for ever.
I'd suggest to give this guy a break till he sorts out his old relationship then try again when he's all sorted out
