On Thursday I thought I saw one, but wasn't sure and couldn't find it after that. Friday I saw a few on my dog. I combed him, and got some off, gave him a bath (not medicated) and vacuumed. Saturday morning I went out and bought carpet/upholstery spray, flea bath and a flea comb (the comb I was using was black...) My husband and I vacuumed again, got everything off the floors, washed all clothes, sheets and towels, I sprayed the bedroom and the areas where the dog spends a lot of time and before bed we gave him a flea bath and combed him until he was dry. Yesterday (Sunday) I vacuumed some furniture that was an afterthought and sprayed it down as well as the kitchen floor along the walls (crevices).

So my question is after all that I've only seen one. Is it possible that I caught it early or should I freak out about the calm before the storm...Either way I plan on cleaning like a maniac for the next month, but has anyone ever had such quick success?

Consider yourself very lucky.
I would treat again and start using a monthly spot on on the dog.
Just to be sure they are gone.
They can live in the carpet for months and come back.
I would treat some more and keep an eye on the dog.
I would start on a monthly preventative and keep the dog on it in the spring and all the way into the fall.
I use a spot on treatment and have not had fleas for more than 10 years. I try and prevent them as they are so hard to get rid of most times.

Hopefully, or at least until the next batch hatch out of the carpet or furniature. MAny sprays do not kill all life cycles. You could have saved alot of money and gotten a box of Advantage and then not had to do all the other toxic bathing and spraying. Just apply it for three months, and the entire problem would be taken care of.

Use a great product like Frontline Plus that kills all stages of the flea, Advantage or advantix (if there are no cats in the home) that kills fleas and larvae or revolution that kills fleas and prevents their eggs from hatching (not to mention treats mites, mange, dog tick AND heartworm preventative!). use any of these products and things should be nipped in the butt.

You may have caught them early enough. Keep up the cleaning and washing of the dog. Remember to throw out your vacuum cleaner bag when your done.

I wouldn't take any chances...I've been in the same situation. I used Front Line Plus, and the results are QUICK and thorough....! It is TOTALLY worth the $30-$40 it costs. I got mine from my vet for $13/month (one application).

I hear there was a big Flea Convention in Vegas over the weekend, so they probably had to go to that.
