Isn't it better for them to just die and go to heaven immediately? They have a free pass while the rest of us have to work hard to get to heaven, so why don't they just commit suicide? I don't want an answer such as "they enjoy life", Heaven's life is soooo much better!!
Do they live for the sake of leading the rest of us to follow their path (which might explain why they are on Earth in the first place)? but, if so, why don't those that can't convince anyone just die and go back to God?
If they believe that life is a test (and hence they will be punished for their sins and rewarded for their good deeds later on), then why do they claim that they are God's chosen people? There is a contradiction.
Any ideas?

I c the general agreement so far is that there is no one that gets a free pass to Heaven, and one has to work for it (something I have the deepest faith in)
However, this goes to show that there is no need to be the "chosen" ones since clearly chosen ones have to have a better status than the rest of us (else what is the point?). Jesus was "chosen" to glorify God's message but, as is evident nowadays, those who follow Jesus do not go around claiming lands promised to Jesus or anything similar - they know that they can only be favored if they do what they think is right.
This concept of a group of people being chosen for the sake of them being born into a religion (and where they take no active part in delivering God's peaceful message) is not right in my opinion
and btw, the reason for longing to return to God is not to escape from the dreadful life (I am actually living an amazing life) but to achieve an even better life, 1 which grants me eternal happiness (sth this life doesnt)

The people of Israel--God's chosen people are not by any means given a free pass!
Everyone is infused body and soul given free will to choose his/her own path. Even you.

Dear suger, I see that you have a few mistakes. First of all, Israel was God choosen people, but now no more.
Second, People who have a direct link to heaven should not kill themselves. (Unless they think by bombing themselves will bring them to heaven straight.)
Life is never a test, or punishment of our sin. Life is but the begining of know that there's a chance to have eternal peace with God.
Someone had quoted rightly, 'for me to live is Christ, to die is gain'.
Killing is wrong, in the sight of God. It include killing of themselves.
Thus, you started with 2 assumptions, and cannot possibly draw any logic conclusions. That is why it is contridicting.
There's a saying, knowledge is good. But those with little knowledge is dangerous. There are many here, mis-quoting the bible, and thus it is serious danger, not to the Christian, but unto themselves. For they will not understand, and will thus not find the way.
But again. We can always post any doubt here and surely some of these answer is right. Not the problem is, which one.
Your choice. But my suggestion is, get it yorselves. Do the bible study as one will do the context study in school/ college, like we do Twelve Night, etc.

To harm a temple of God, (any place where God may live; such as a person...)is a sin. Hence, they can't just kill themselves! As a Christian I beleive that, yes they ARE His chosen people, but they do NOT recognize Jesus as the Son of God....they never did. They are STILL waiting for the Messiah, the Savior to save them. The thing is they think He will be like a man of war; to SAVE them from their 'earthy' enemy's. They don't think their soul needs to be saved since they ARE His chosen people....yes, Jew's that are NOT Saved by the Blood of Jesus Christ will go to Hell as well as any one eles who does NOT except Jesus Christ into his heart...that is the ONLY way to go to Heaven for all men; chosen or not.

You speak of everyone, not just Israelis. We all look forward to Heaven's eternity, but what's wrong with this life now? It's a great thing, and to be enjoyed.
Just because you despise your life, doesn't mean we all do. Some of us are having a great time with God. That was, ya know, the plan.

first of all you moron ,we are not afraid of death.because we are gods chosen, does not mean we have a free pass to get to heaven,we are like all people on the face of the earth.who sin, commit crimes ,we are not glorified in that way.if you really want to know who is afraid of death.its the grown up arabs.who teach their children from birth to become martyrs, the cowards hide behind their own children, rather than having themselves blown up by suicide belts, they are a bunch of idiots with no brains.so put that in your pipe and smoke it.from mkihal in israel.

The Jewish people have been persecuted for millenium, for
being guilty of nothing more in the past, than what the rest of us do. The sin of pride.
And they are fed up!

1st - you need an understanding of who the true nation of Israel is
2nd - you fail to understand that life is a gift from God
3rd - sins are forgiven is you repent (look up the meaning of repent)
4th - Read the Bible then form and intelligent argument.

Your mistake is that you don't understand what being "G-d's chosen" means. It doesn't mean we get better treatment, it just means we get different treatment. We have more obligations than gentiles. But both jew and gentile can earn heaven and both jew and gentile have to earn heaven. There are no "freebies".

Paul the apostle said, "For me to live is Christ, but to die is gain." Although they don't believe that Christ was the Messiah, They do believe that there is reason for them to live and propagate the species.
