Would you mind sharing if it was?

We had one of those unforgettable days. It was Baptism Sunday and we play video testimonies before dunking. There were four being Baptized - one single mother and her two boys, and then my friend. My friend is built like a tank. He lifts weights, has a bald head, and tattoos up both arms. He's a tough guy.

We listened and watched as the single mom and kids went first, and they were inspiring, but my friend's testimony was on a whole other level. As he started talking about God changing his life, tears started to well up in his eyes, and you could tell he was fighting it with everything he had. But as he finished by saying "just look at how God has changed my life," the tears fell and the video went into slow motion as the music started up. His great big hand reached up to wipe away the tears showing his tattoos in all their glory. We were all in tears at that point.This big, tough buy was moved to tears at the changes that God had brought about.

After that one of our two year olds, the one that had a heart transplant at three months old, got up and danced to our band - in front of everyone, without a care in the world.

You don't get a much more beautiful day. Praise to God.

That is awesome. God is Great, right. I love my Church. We have an awesome Pastor.

We did not have any Baptisms this weekend. It is always beautiful and joyous when we do.

We did however, sing and praise with the litany of angels and saints in heaven and witness while the Lamb himself came down upon the alter offering himself to us as the most perfect sacrifice; truly heaven on Earth!

Thanks be to God for those added into the fold in your presence this weekend. May God strengthen them for the journey!

I have learned to never underestimate the power of sincere faith. Sounds like it was an amazing service. I'm glad your friend has found something that gives him strength and joy. May it inspire him to many great acts of courage, kindness, and generosity. Thanks for sharing!

I attended a meeting (we call it a Celebration of Life) of our local Humanist Community this weekend. Each member brought a song or piece of music on CD that represents Joy in his/her mind. We talked about the need for character building courses in our schools, did a count of volunteers for the soup kitchen this coming weekend, and finished our series on "the faiths of our Founding Fathers" (something I initiated in July). We closed with one of my favorite quotes from President Teddy Roosevelt.

When I was attending Christian church I always had a problem with the unbridled emotion that accompanied every event. It was embarrassing to me. Just being honest.

I had a lovely day in my 'church' yesterday, the beautiful outdoors of this Earth. I saw the indomitable human spirit and the wonders of our planet.

Sounds like an amazing day - I was travelling back from work when I would normally be in Church - so I could not go. It is excellent to know that others were still able to have a wonderful time.

we only had one baptism,yesterday but a powerful movement of the Holyghost during both services. alot of rejoicing in the spirit,and we have testimonies every sunday evening that are always encouraging

If you enjoy brownnosing god, I guess church would be 'amazing'. Too bad all those sitting in those pews worrying about themselves don't get out and help others during that time instead.
