I need a career/job that won't take a long time to get trained for, nor much money. Any career resources out there? I don't think I could be earning less money than I am now, so any increase in income would be welcomed!

Read What Color is Your Parachute, then begin looking for jobs in a field that sounds interesting to you. What do you like to do. I am majoring in Publishing and love books so I am a manager of a bookstore. My brother plays bass and is in a band, he works at a music store. My dad loves computers and works as a computer engineer. Find what you love to do.

Jobs in healthcare are the fastest growing careers and if you want something that takes less than 2 years to train for there's two careers that are currently the fastest growing and that's medical assistants and massage therapists. Check out community colleges they should have medical assistant and massage therapy programs there which is for less money and massage therapists are only in training for a year and medical assistants train for 6-8 months and then are working by the time they graduate. Stick to a semester scale since quarters are a b*tch to deal with.

There are "NO Silver-Bullets" to your question. You will have to take a hard look at your life, in finding your "niche" in a career. There are NO "Golden-Eggs" or "Pots of Gold" nor can I or anyone else tell you what or how to make you happy in a career, other than hard work.
Every raise(pay) that I have received in my career has been through hard work, patience, and experience, learning as I go, then applying my knowledge.
Go to your local "D.O.L."(Dep't. of Labor) web-site, and "America's Job Bank" and take the "S.K.A.'s"(Skills, Assessment, Knowledge) tests, to help you determine what you like to do(job-wise), they also list the "pay-scales" for the jobs matching your skill levels. Even go down to your local "D.O.L." branch office and talk to one of their Counselors. They can determine what you need, and dependent on your situation, they may be able to get you into a job-program(re-trained) with little or no-cost to you.
It will take a lot of effort and work on your part, but if you are serious about your "Future" it will all be worth all of the effort that you put into it!
Lastly, talk to your "Boss" at your job and see if your employer has any other types of jobs that you are qualified to do, or training that will help you move-up in your employ.
A "good" employee is an "asset" to any employer, and they will not want to loose that employee to their "competition."

Check with your Employment/Unemployment office. There may be programs to help people in your circumstance get further training and they may also pay for it. Like being a nurse or physical therapist. Those are need nationwide.
