Low platelet count seen in pregnancy is usually caused by ‘gestational thrombocytopaenia’, which can drop down to 20 K during the third trimester.
According to the current guidelines, asymptomatic pregnant woman doesn't require treatment until delivery.A platelet transfusion alone is of no use as the transfused platelets would be destroyed. There is no diet that affects platelet count. Continue to take iron and folic acid.
Since taking iron and folic acid are recommended, the naturopathic remedies will be foods high in iron and folic acid. Green leafy vegetables, liver, and brewer's yeast are best dources of folic acid. Oysters, liver ,lean red meat, poultry, dried beans, egg yolks, dried fruits, and dark leafy green vegetables are some good sources of iron.

No one can suggest a remedy including her doctor until the CAUSE is determined. A low platelet count can be caused by decreased production in the bone marrow or increased consumption from a variety of factors. A number of diseases have already been mentioned by previous posters. TTP is another condition that can cause low platelet counts. I'm sure that her doctor has considered all of these things and has determined the likely etiology and best treatment for the same (sometimes the best treatment is to do nothing). I know of no effective naturopathic remedy for thrombocytopenia from whatever the cause.

I am sure she is under the doctors care. So do as the doctor orders.
All other answers are well meaning and most are good. She pulled through, first pregnancy she will do OK with this.
In USA there is a chain of stores call General Nutrition they have well catalogued all the natural foods and natural remedies that they have on hand or can be special ordered. Worth looking in to it.
Some pharmacy is also caters to nature cures and natural product for the purpose. Any thing(Spinach, Beat Roots) with iron will help a great deal.

Well, the best remedy would be a platelet transfusion, but only if the doctors feel that her low count warrants treatment. Normally, a low platelet count does not actually require emergency treatment, although the pregnancy may change that. If you're really keen on a naturopathic solution, you can try Vitamin C

This may help. My cousin has been advised for increasing platelet counts.
1. Eat regularly date palms (Khazoor)
2. chewing few leaves of Oscimum sanctum (Tulsi) can also help.
Consult a good doctor.

I know that vitamin K is a natural clotting agent, and is found in fresh greens like kale and collard, but is also available in supplements. I am a medical assistant at a family practice clinic, and I strongly advise she speak to her OBGYN before starting any new supplemental remedy for her problem. If not taken correctly, an overabundance of vitamin K results in too much clotting and possibly stroke or death.

Looks like your sister is at risk for DIC (Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation) which is quite common in pregnant women. there is no known remedy, just close monitoring of the PLT count. And stay out of any trauma, bruising. No eating liver either, just normal healthy nutrition.

She may have a variant of pre-eclampsia known as HELLP syndrome, but that is usually in the third trimester. Make sure her physician watches for the other signs and symptoms of this.
