I've got to know abt animation first when i first learnt MS powerpoint, u can try using flash software for basic animation, some of my friends who do hard core animation use MAYA for doing animation projects for various Television channels

Get free downloads from Maya (www.maya.com I think) and you can make a computer animation. There are Adobe programs in computer stores and stores like Staples that sell around $200-$300.

there are many software out there, eg. 3d studio max, maya, lightwave, it depends on what kind of animation you are looking for... if i'm not wrong, maya is more for character shaping, whereas 3d studio max is an all-rounder. cheers
