Hospital resouces spend a minimum on the installation and maintenance of lift services.
Its the same as the roads. Why within a couple of years of laying some tarmac are they then fixing it. Its the oldest con in the world. Road companies make more from maintenance jobs than they ever did from the real job.
Its the same with cars. The car parts and servicing industry is way way bigger than the retail car sales made every year. That's why they don't build them like they use to becuase there was no money in that way.

The lifts are always knackered in the hospital I work in too. I think it's probably because they're about 20 years old and starting to totally feck up, but the trust will not spend money on anything as trivial as the lifts. I was in one the other day when it suddenly dropped three stories. I REALLY needed a cigarette after that. Not much to do except continually complain to maintenance and wait for them to do the place up, however long that may be...

I have a heart, and the reason why there is crappy lifts in your hospital is that we go to crappy hospitals. We must go to the same one. Complain to the hospital staff, honey. Its worth a try.

i know i was in a hospital yesterday seeing my grans friend who sadly passed away this morning and there were 4 lifts and only 1 was working
and another thing why were the elderly on the top floor???
