If Adam and Eve were not "born" and were created by "God" than why do they have belly buttons in every picture or painting I see of them? Wouldnt that mean they would have been in a womb?

i have actually noticed this also...my art history proffessor said that the painters were either trying to make a subtle hint at thier personal view about God or didn't notice completely....have you ever noticed that "Birth of venus" also has a bellbutton....but she was born of the sea...that's the whole point of the painting.

Because the painters weren't there, they really don't don't if they did or not. I bet they just painted belly buttons on the painting so that they would look more human to us. Of course it's assumed that Adam and Eve didn't have belly buttons.

I cant believe you evolutionist would try to bang us bible believing christians with questions like this, doesnt anyone out there have a better "scientific" question to substantiate your evolution religion?

Eve was made from Adam's lower rib right? I bet you don't believe this either, did you know that until recently "scientists" discovered that the lower rib is the only bone in the body which will grow back if removed, mmmm?

Here let me state to all philosophers of every class upon the earth, when you tell me that Father Adam was made as we make adobes from the earth, you tell me what I deem an idle tale. When you tell me that the beasts of the field were produced in that matter, you are speaking idle words devoid of meaning. There is no such thing in all the eternities where the Gods dwell. Mankind are here because they are the offspring of parents who were first brought here from another planet, and power was given them to propagate their species, and they were commanded to multiply and replenish the earth.

The artists painted them as they would everyone else, with a belly button. That is a mistake by the artist.

The Painters are not God and never met Adam and Eve to see how they looked like when created. Besides the Bible should not always be taken literally. Its more than that...its not just a storybook

Adam and Eve were lying in the sand and God reached down and poked each of them in the belly, (like a cake), and said "You're done and you're done". . . . . .

adtl: Seriously, it is called "artistic license" and hardly matters in God's grand scheme of things any more than whether they had "inies" or "outies".

Here is another interesting question.

It is a well known zoological fact that snakes do not have ears.

So, how could Eve have had a conversation with a serpent?

Indubitably the artist never thought about that detail, good point, the belly button should be left out.
