Questions are to enliven and provoke thought...well, the question does say IF you were a Palestinian and IF Israelis came from Europe taking land and family lives what would you do. So there is little point in saying in your answer that Israelis do not come from Europe, since the question is hypothetical.

In actual fact, however, many do come from Europe, and from the East as far as Russia and beyond, supported by funds and housing to swell the numbers in Israel and, of course, many more from the USA. OK!

What would you do? Well, again if the Israelis stole land, as they have in Palestine,(or purchased land after cutting people off from water etc), if they placed you in concentration camps like the whole of Gaza and used gestapo- like methods to imprison, interrogate, torture you and then ran tanks over your house, your friends houses and targetted people using gunships, rockets etc and closed bank accounts and ignored UN resolutions to stop...and relied on the US to use its veto to protect it, then I guess you would have to become a fighter for your own freedom and dignity using whatever methods you had available.

And for those who repeat the oft repeated Jewish line that we were here first and the Arabs came after us, or (the more recent Israeli line) we have it and we are going to hold it, perhaps a little historical background maybe useful before you discuss this.

Why is it that you feel the need to rewrite the history of that area. First there has been Jewish people in this area for over 3000 years. Secondly the Palestianians are the ones who came into Israel and took over the land in the early 1900's because in 1914 the British agrees that the Jewish people should have their own country back. The Arab countries in the region told the Palestians that the should settle here before Israel beacome a country again so that they might get their own country first. The Palestian were NOMADS and the other Arab countries did NOT want them in their country!
Thirdly the Palestians and other Arabs were killing the Jewish people that were told that they could return to Israel in the 1940's before it became Israel again.
Lastly ALL the Arab countries declared war on Israel when that became a country in 1948! Please do not try to rewrite history nor put out something that is a lie as the truth.
OH wait people have been doing that for so many years now that they believe the garbage that you asked in your lame question!

First of all, there were no israelis before the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948. At the time of the 1947 UN Resolution, the Jewish population in the Palestinian Mandate controlled 6% of the land. They subsequently went on an organised campaign (Plan Dalet) to claim (through direct and indirect violence) as much land as possible for the future Jewish state, before, during and after the 1948 War. Despite the fact that both factions (Jews and Arabs) committed acts of terror against civilian populations, the Jewish campaign was organised and executed far better.

To answer your question, if I was a Palestinian Arab and my family's land was taken from me and I was attacked, then I would have serious (and valid) reasons to retaliate. However, the Palestinian Arabs were also screwed over by their Arab neighbours, European states and the US, who for the following decades failed to enforce a sustainable solution to the situation.

The Israelis didn't come from Europe. They were already there!

Josh, Israelis were already in what was then British-occupied Palestine. When settlers came there to BUY(not steal) land, they found OTHER JEWS living there. These Jews were descended from the first ones, and included other who were protected by Arabs from Christians during the crusades. It was only Arab attacks on Jews beween the world wars that stirred up so much hatred there, fueled largley by the Muslim Brotherhood. This same hatred is what causes the Arab-Israeli Wars and terrorist attacks of tody.

Jews have lived in the Holy land since 1300 BC. Its always been their land. The place where the muslims have their mosque is the site of 2 ancient holy temples for the Jews. Muslims werent there until they took the land by conquest and built mosques all over the jewish Temple mount.
