Or will he smite you for it? That seems so very mean. What if you add a j/k to the end of your joke?

Depends on the joke ... disrespecting God is never a good idea, but even God has a sense of humor, look at the camel lol.

Sure we can,but in a positive way. There are a lot of Christian jokes. God has a sense of humor just not for rude or nasty jokes. It says in the Bible we shouldn't laugh at rude things, we should hate them.

Yeah, sure. God likes a good chuckle like the rest of us. I'm sure there would be more "smiting" if he didn't have a sense of humor.

I'm pretty sure Christians can joke about their God - I'm also pretty sure if you tell a joke about Islam you've a good chance of having your head chopped off by some Islamic loony.

It depends what you mean by "joke." I think God has a sense of humour - hence, as often observed, the platypus.

I think that the approach you take with God and humour is the approach you take with anyone. Gentle good humour is good for the soul. Meanspiritedness is hurtful.

Here's a joke about God that I think God would get a chuckle from.

Frank goes to church every Sunday, and prays, "O Lord, I have a hard life, please let me win the lottery." Every Sunday, for twenty years, he begs, pleads, cajoles, and asks in every way he can.

One Sunday, pleading in front of the votive candles, Frank is particularly overwrought: "Please, Lord, I've been asking for twenty years!! I just want to win the lottery, please, please Lord!"

A voice booms out....

"FRANKIE... MEET ME HALF WAY. BUY A TICKET."

Christians are allowed to do whatever they want to do, they just have to suffer the consequences for their sins. After all, God did give people a free will.

I certainly hope so, I think God has a great sense of humor, and unless it is blasphemy, I think God delights in our joy and our inclusion of him in all aspects of our life, even our jokes.
