Explain to them that you feel that God would want you to reach out to those who do not know Jesus yet and bring them to church events and activities.

You tend to be like those you hang around with. Are there enough people at church to be your friends? I believe what your parents are thinking is that you will be less likely to get into trouble if you have church friends, as they should know what is right and wrong. This isn't always the case, but it helps.

Your parents only want to protect you. The world is an evil
place. Plus, you don't have to do anything wrong. You only
have to be there when someone else does something wrong.
Todays laws will implicate you as well.
There is a silly struggle that goes on between parents and their
children. A child must learn to think on its own in order to survive
in the world. Evil calls this "teen rebellion", and "parental
control". But it is just a stage we all go through.
Trust your parents experience. And prove to them you can be
trusted. Like staying in touch when you're out. Being on time for
things. These are all things you will need to be able to do to
make it on your own.

Reassure your parents that your friends are good, honest, moral people (if they are not, rethink who your friends are) and that you will not abandon your faith or the beliefs that they have taught you.

Your parents are going through a very scary time for themselves in that they are worried that you will abandon what they have tried to teach you or that you will be led astray by people who may believe differently from you.

Every parent wants what is best for their children. The things they have taught you are the things they think is best for you to know. people outside your church will have different ideas from what they have taught you and they are concerned about this. Reassure them.

I would explain to them that I can be friends with any good people, and that there are good people outside my church.

Stand up for yourself -- you're right and they're wrong. And don't forget that even if they force you to obey them. If you're old enough, it sounds to me like you should find another church for yourself, where the people are more open-minded. Try Episcopalian, Methodist, or United Church of Christ.

Tell them its unrealistic and crazy. YOu have to live and how can you apreciate a friendship with people in or out of the church if you dont associate with them. Let them know also that there may be people out there who need to hear the word of God and talking to people aint church aint gonna get the message to them.

Obey your parents, they have the legal and moral right to make you anyway.

When you are 18, you can do as you wish. Sometimes you can have yourself declared an adult at a younger age, but you should obey them until that time.

It will give you a maturity that you will thank them for in later years. (not the whole 'not having friends' thing, but the lesson learned in obeying)

Ignore them. They should be more tolerant and opern to the world.

Perhaps they are also forcing you to go to church. This should also only be voluntary, and you should be able to do what you want.

depends upon whom these friends are and what their purposes are. would suggest you need to talk with your parents as they may have some very good reasons as to why they may not approve of certain people.
