Add in a lot of carbs to your diet to gain weight like pastas, potatoes, rice, beans, cakes, pies etc. Make sure you also add in plenty of protein and if that still doesn't do it for you there is a product called ENSURE PLUS on the market that is formulated to help you either maintain weight or to gain it. They taste like milkshakes and comes in a can and you should a 4 or 5 cans daily into your diet in addition to your regular food. You should be able to find it by the case in any good supermarket.

Rapid weight loss, first of all, shouldn't really be pushed. But let me tell you something: You're asking. So I'm gonna' give it to ya.
1. Avoid ALL pastas. And by all pastas I mean bread, tortillas (no Taco Bell), and anything resembling bread, spaghetti or rice.
2. Up your vegetable consumption rapidly. The best way to do this is to stick to vegetable soups and fruit smoothies. This way you won't feel it as bad as if you intentially put a carrot in your mouth. And that's it.
3. Of course, when you get hungry (because hunger will set it, unfortunately...and it will do so pretty regularly), get yourself some beef jerky and all the meat you can find. The best way to avoid having to worry about cholesterol and all those things is to try a better kind of meat, like duck, deer, or even turkey - although stick to the actual grilled turkey type, not the processed turkey slices. Also, try tuna, salmon, and other types of fish. They're the best, plus they'll get you full.
Beef Jerky works well if you're at work or something and just need a quick snack.
And finally, the best way to keep your body going is to drink lots and lots and lots of water, constantly, even if you have to go to the bathroom a lot.
Reward yourself with some pasta once a week for a meal, and you should be fine.
Oh, and walk 5 miles a day. That's all you would really need to do.
Walk 5 miles a day, four days a week, and lift weights (the puniest weights will do, as long as you can keep lifting for 30 minutes to an hour should be fine)
The average American walks 0.5 miles a day. So expect some resistance while meeting the recommended walking distance I told you - 5 miles.
Good luck.
