"We need to be consistent with our immigration policy, if policy is the right word.

If we are too impotent to handle the illegal alien issue -- and we are -- we might as well open our doors to everyone. That is not a policy either. But at least it is consistent.

Hispanics should not be the only group to have all the illegal fun.

Life is not fair, although too many Americans are under the misguided impression that they can make it fair."

mimi, first off youre hot.

second, the law should apply equally to everyone, but it doesnt. Equal treatment under the law is a farce. Unfortunately, the wealthy and the poor dont get treated the same under the law for reasons that generally come down to the affordability of competent representation.

The laws should apply to all. ANd if we grant amnesty to the current flood of illegals then people from other countries will see it as a sign that our borders are open to them too. How about the idea of 500 million or more Chinese illegals would that be reason enough to change the immigration policies of our government?

You're right. We should open our doors to everyone and anyone that wishes to come to this country to work hard for a living. The American Dream should not be set aside for a group of people, excluding the rest. I hear people saying MY country like they were the founders. Like they have no immigrant ancestors.

Well unless you're 100% Native American, I've got news for you. The founding fathers of this country were the first wave of undocumented workers. That's why they don't mention "illegal immigration" in the constitution.

Also, hispanics don't get a "free ride" to this country. They have to cross rivers and desserts, risk their lives and that of their families to get here. How many Americans can tell their kids they risked their lives for a chance to come to this country?

From the very beginning the USA has had an open door to new people.
They bought territory and included the people as with Florida and Louisiana.
They conquered territory and its people as with Texas and New Mexico and California.
They received new people from exile as with the Acadians and Jews.
They bought and kept actual people as with the African slaves.
They over ran existing occupants as with the native indians.
These new people are the very fabric of this country.
The only ones with a free ride are the people who were born here who don't know just how lucky they are to have been born with a silver spoon in their mouth and in such a great place.

The laws should apply to everyone. I don't care who you are if you're an illegal immigrant enough said.

For those who think illegal immigrants need free healthcare- Illegal means not legal that means they should be in jail and punished.

Well I think your question is rhetorical one, so I really don't see the point in this "question", but this is Yahoo! Answers so I'm supposed to answer your question as best I can.

Our laws should apply to everyone, and yes it is based on nationality because the only nationality should be American.

At a time in the not so distant past, all of our ancestors came here from somewhere else.

The difference between then and now is that those who fought to come here rarely received free lunches, free health care, welfare, and similar services.

People should be allowed to find refuge and work here, but they must pave their own way. The exception to that would be those who have shown their hatred for America. They should not be welcome.
