The Father of my two children resigned from his full time job and decided to work for his Fathers Baked Potato business in Birmingham City Centre. Consequently the CSA stopped as it was taken at source and he now claims that he does not earn sufficient to pay CSA and his assesment suggests this too - not enough income to pay ANY CSA!!! Since he has remarried and lives with his wife and her child in an owned home - CSA can apparently only act on the information he provides to them and Inland Revenue - so, when they lie and get away with earnings on the paperwork - how do you get the truth? I know the earnings of this business and know the wage he will take - I have reported tax evasion, heard nothing and got nowhere. Can anyone help

myself and my husband are on the opposite side of the csa, his ex is self employed, and earning good money plus taking us for what she can, by claiming she only works 16 hours! we have tried reporting her, but nothing has ever come of it. the csa is a waste of time, there has to be a better and more fair way of sorting out maintenance for children, so no one suffers.

If he's self-employed - he won't have a "wage". He will have drawings and profits. If the company is new or small - it may not have accounts yet - and so neither the revenue nor the CSA will have any data to go on.

The revenue will not give you an update on your fraud complaint - because they can not tell you what they know about him - or whether they are even investigating.

Speak to a solicitor (CAB can put you in touch with one for a free consultation) ask about whether a new court appearance would have any chance of success.

The CSA system is flawed, it gives women the power because the law gives them custody of the children.
you have not explained what the situation was which caused the break up, it could well be that you did the dirty on him, as with my friend, and now he is not allowed to see his son, and he pays....

Until the circumstances of the break up are taken into account the system will never work, because most women see the csa as a cash cow with little or more accounting for there actions....
