I have a nearly 2 year old male boxer who seems to be stuck at about 65 pounds. He was not the runt of the litter, and both his mom and dad are huge. I make sure he always has food in his bowl but it just doesnt seem to matter. Any tips on bulking him up?

Feed a very high quality pet food and add some fat to his diet.
You can do that by adding some Linatone oil or one oft he other oils made to make their coats look good. They will add calories.
Better food would be the first choice and more of it.
Maybe going to a feeding time instead of laving food out all the time. Some dogs when free fed do not care about food much and eat less than if you feed them two or three times per day.

Boxers should have a lean body. Although both parents are huge, there is other heritage you may not be aware of. 65# sounds great. What does your vet say? They know best! Besides, he's still young. He might bulk out more in the next 1-2 years. But be cautious. Boxers (one of my favs!), are prone to cardiomyopathy, allergies, hip dysplasia, hypothyroidism and cancers. Extra weight can be dangerous.

Consult with your vet about weight gain.

Since you are wanting to bulk him up, Put his feed bowl up higher so he has to use new muscle to reach it, no not out of his reach. More protein in his diet, but do not go over board because this could be harmful to his kidneys. Buy appropriated dog food for his age and weight and feed the amount on the bag, Ask your vet if you can add amount to these. There is so many great dog foods out there look for one for the active dogs, therefore you will not be harming him in any way. And check him for worms, this could be a reason of not gaining weight. Also look into vitamins.

Satin Balls: Homemade dog treat recipes like this is one can really help in putting weight on an animal quickly, as some use it for putting a couple extra pounds on a show animal prior to the big day, or an animal that may have been ill and needs a weight gain program. It has also been reported that these homemade dog treat recipes will help with some forms of hair loss, such as when your dog(s) blow their coat, to keep the coat healthy and shiny. This recipe is intended to be fed raw.

Thats a great weight for a boxer. The parents were probably fat breeder slobs. Boxers aren't 100 lb dogs. It got your attention and they got your money though didn't they.

Raw meat, supplemented with quality kibbles. Leave the bones, and fat on. The bones aren't dangerous while raw, they only splinter when cooked.
