Not if you have a Company car!
They are not such a good idea for motorcycles, emergency vehicles and snow-ploughs although you don't hear many safety campaigners complaining that they are actually dangerous. We all know who has to pay if they damage our cars.
The UK can't rationalise anything except speed limits and fines, which is why they are different sizes. It would be a good idea if they were all the same size, perhaps we should have a British Standard?

If you have ever been driving down a road at 30 mph and not noticed a speed bump you will know that it does not do much good to the car!! Slowing down means your car stays intact and your head doesn't hit the roof!!!!
No idea why they are different sizes - maybe they are just made that way!

The are are 2 road humps near me, no need to slow down (pisses me when drivers in front brake hard and slow right down to <10mph) as I do 30 over them and don't feel a thing. But in another you have to slow down to 10 mph or less.

They don't slow down most Joyriders. What do they care if the suspension bushes wear out.
