My 10 year old daughter asked me, "Who made God?" Not Jesus, God. This one had me stumped. Can anyone help? Remember, she's only 10, so no long winded answers or deep phylisophical answers either.

Hi Vik. I've had this same situation...once as the daughter, and once as the mother. I told my daughther what my mother told me. (Forever is a powerful word, and to a 10-year-old, it needs no further explanation.)

GOD has been alive forever. He was not born, and he will never die. He was here when there was nothing, and we are here because he was lonely. Now that he created the world, he has us to love, and he will never be lonely again. All the questions that we don't have the answers for will all make sense when we get to Heaven, because that's when God explains it to us!

Good luck, Vik.

I'm sorry guitarpic but Jesus Christ is The son and Jeovah is The father,

About ur question. Let her know that that is a question that u cant answer, but tell her that all u know is that god has always been there because he has some qualities that we dont have, the power to be there past present and future. Let her know that God is so big that sometimes we cant understand everything about god, and give her an example of real life, like she can speak English but can she speak spanish or Japanese( but it dont mean is not a lenguage, or that it dont exist) But if she wanted to learn a lenguage there is always resources, same as God, thus the bible. U can also try buying her a bible of her own age so that she can understand it better and find answers to questions that she has.

In our world, everything has a beginning and an end. In Gods' world, or the universe if you choose, time is not measured in the same way. God is, and always was. But again, we are trying to voice a Heavenly conception with an earthly mind. There are a lot of things we as humans don't understand, and that is why we must have faith.

If God had a beginning, someone greater than God must have been responsible for His beginning. Since God by definition is the Supreme Being this is not possible. Therefore, God of necessity is eternal, having no beginning and no end.

Tell her God always was, always will be. He's the One who made everything.

If you daughter is asking about God, if you don't belong now, maybe you should think about attending a good Bible believing Church, and sending her to Sunday school. Without Jesus in our lives, the end of the road for us is Hell. If you don't see that she learns about God, who will?

Tell her that is something Christian's will never know. It says in the bible that God has no beginning and no end. Tell her that all her questions can be answered in heaven. I'm not a Christian but i can not, not believe in a God. Its merely impossible for all this to be created by accident. Even Albert Einstein believed that. Even if an atheist way of how the earth was form still leaves questions. Just don't get her too confused or otherwise you'll have an atheist.

I was taught that God is like a perfect circle (no beginning/no end). He always was, is now, and ever shall be. Our human minds are finite and there are things that we will never understand here on this Earth. We must have faith in God's word.

The only thing you can tell her is that he always was. No one made him. He was there in the beginning to form the earth and the animals, and all the things we see. It takes faith to believe that cause no one can explain how God always was. He just was. It takes faith for your daughter to believe in George Washington cause she has never met him. All she has is history books same for us who are saved. We have the bible who tells us God always was.

Perhaps for God, time is irrelevant. Theres no beginning or end.
But thats probably beyond the imagination of a 10year old.
