Go to google for a search engine and put in "War time recipes" and it will show you a bunch that were used in WWII and other wars.

Ask Jeeves I suggest ! Or maybe somebody born around 1925
is still alive in your vicinity that is the best source !
I have all my cooking skills from my grandmother and have passed that knowledge down to my children it is so important !

Google it - just type in wartime recipes - here is just one page of many: http://www.livingarchive.org.uk/nvq03/julia/making%20do.html
..also try searching the BBC - for wartime recipe (lots of personal accounts/memories here): http://search.bbc.co.uk/cgi-bin/search/results.pl?q=wartime+recipe&uri=%2Fww2peopleswar%2Fcategories%2Fc1168%2Findex_3.shtml&go.x=31&go.y=11
