I was really amazed at the number of parents who put their kids in the cot with a bottle of juice or cordial. It will rot their teeth!!
NEVER PUT A CHILD TO SLEEP WITH A BOTTLE OR food etc!!!!
when we sleep the saliva in our mouth decreases. this means our mouth doesnt have as much protection against bacteria that causes decay. if you put you child to sleep with food/ bottle (juice, cordial etc) everything just sits in the mouth and doesnt do the teeth any good. unless you want ur child to have rotten teeth i would suggest not doing this. the only thing that they should take to bed with them is a bottle of water. WATER! with flouride.
ok im done having my winge! goodnight :-)

We used to have a neighbor child with extremely rotten teeth from going to bed with a bottle. The teeth were brown and just nubs above the gum line - I'd never seen anything so bad! So now we use him as an example to our children "Do you want to have teeth like Michael's?" It works - even for the child who never knew Michael! She just realizes how horrified her brother and sister are. =)

When u put your baby, child to sleep with a bottle of milk or juice, the teeth can become rotted. I've seen many kids with something called "nursing bottle syndrome" which is just what I've explained. Use water only. Keep the other drinks for during the day, and brush their teeth or wipe them afterwards. Lots of sugars in these drinks.

You are so right and it is also a bad habit to get into. For some kids it will tech them to use there tumb also for something to do once you take that bottle away and it will push out there teeth.

Did you also notice - that the same parents who do this can't seem to figure out why their child's mouth is full of decay and rot? They are just downright clueless.

My children always took the bottle before they went to bed, not while they were in the bed. My daughter in nine and no cavities!

Uh, well, this isn't really a question. But it is a valid point and one that all parents (especially very young ones) should bear in mind.

I dunno bout tooth decay, but maybe that's why I can't go to sleep sometimes without eating something right before... Hmn... *thinking*
