People in the US have no way of knowing if a person that came across the boarder illegally, are here to do harm or work, and if this person is wanted by police in the other country they came from. On the other hand people who come here to work only want a better life. What people don't realize is, if you are here illegally, you don't have any rights, you are not a citizen, but you get free handouts, take advantage of the system, and pay no taxes. Why do you think you have a right to be here? What if the government decides to shoot and kill violaters crossing the boarder? Closing the boarders seem to be the answer, even to protect both parties. The citizens of the US, and the person crossing the boarder! What would Russia do with illegals? Firing squad?

The question does not pertain to illetrate or uneducted people. Maybe I should have asked the question in a context that even someone with a very low IQ could understand. Obviously our government does have an uneducated answer of building a fence.

No, by closing its borders the United States would insure that its own downfall. Right now, we don't have enough people human service workers to sustain the folks already here. That is why you see so many doctors from India and low wage janitors, cleaners, and construction from Mexico. Americans simply aren't doing these jobs in the numbers needed.

I know illegals I like and dislike. Overall I would have to say it doesn't matter at this point. What I dont like is how they're changing the way legal americans live for the sake of the illegals. Jobs requiring you know spanish, the emergency broadcasts coming in spanish before english and the unfortunate racism that both sides have towards each other.

Correction, it's BORDERS. Im american, and I think that as long as they are here for work (mowing lawns, building stuff, painting, doing stuff that they should do) then it's fine, but if they come here to get in trouble and mess up the whole place then no. I think that all illegal immigrants that are here working hard so their lives can be a little bit more successful, should not be deported, but these that are also illegal that are harming the whole place with their "gangs" and other stuff, should be. If they want to live here, they got to live BY THE RULES, this is not Mexico, you don't get to do whatever you want to do when you want to do it. But as long as they're here working not screwing up, then it's totally fine with me, because if they deport ALL illegal immigrants, then we wouldn't have someone to do the dirty jobs. THINK ABOUT IT, an american mowing lawns, painting, getting their hands dirty, for a couple of bucks a month ? I don't think so.

Why do you believe they come here for a better life and to work? Terrorists come to destroy us so they can return to the desert sand fleas and have sex with 70 used virgins.
