Get him fix. Then clean up to spots he has already sprayed with a special cleaner that will actually get rid of the smell (something that'll break down the enzymes). Also, you can get something called Feliway that helps calms cats and supposedly stops them from spraying.

Neutering your cat may help, but doesn't guarantee that the cat will stop sraying. Maybe the cat feels territorial, you don't say if you have any other animals in the house. The other thing you could do is make a really loud noise that your cat doesn't like when it sprays this may make the cat associate its spraying habits with noise it doesn't like and may put an end to it....the only drawback being that you would have to catch the cat in the act. Hope this is of some help to you.

Our 3 cats (2 female, one male) were all neutered relatively young, but they ALL still spray - mainly in the garden but also now and then in the house - mainly when there are "foreign" cats around. We've told them how much it annoys us but they say it's just what cats do to claim their territory. I regularly wash down any area they spray with Flash which improves the smell and possibly reduces the tendancy. Apparently it's best not to use disinfectant as this makes matters worse. Also I find that a good, strong room fragrencer helps.

You need to get him neutered. Most male cats will spray to mark their territory. Usually after you get them fixed, they will stop spraying.

The cat will have to be speyed, it's the only way to stop cats, or your house will smell very strong of cats

Keep a spray with water in it handy, so every time he does it, you spray him immediately. He will hate it and soon get the message that it's unacceptable.

my cat was neutered years ago, it hasnt stopped him as he is a nervous cat, get FELIWAY from ur vet as a spray or plug in, that will calm him and make him feel safe if he is nervous.

either get him a paint brush or call the vet and book a neutering session. (two bricks and some co-ordination will do it on the cheap.

He is only marking his territory. Have him fixed or put him outside.
