Some say yes, some say no.
Yes, because it increases your metabolism, but no because the caffiene makes you retain water.
My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.
On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.
The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!
Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.
Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.
Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

Coffee by itself is not bad at all. It gives me the boost I need for working out.
It is what you put in coffee that can cost you extra calories.
1 Tablespoon of cream - 50 calories
1 Tablespoon of 1/2 and 1/2 - 20
1 Tablespoon of Coffee Mate Flavored (Liquid)- 35 cals
1/4 cup of Whole Milk - 38 calories
1 Tablespoon of sugar - 48 calories
That all adds up, and you think this is bad then you see Starbucks and other coffee shops more elaborate drinks. Lattes, Mochas, etc. all of those have lots of calories. Starbucks list calories on their website- www.starbucks.com
There is nothing wrong with enjoying coffee. I have since I was a kid. Just be aware that the calories you drink count just like the calories in food.

Plain black coffee doesn't have a calorie content but it does have a carb content, so it could affect a carb-controlled diet. Having said that, I think its appetite supressing qualities more than make up for the small carb content and the caffeine will increase your metabolism slightly which is always a good thing for weight-loss. Ultimately, though, the good/bad debate over coffee is best answered thus: it's not particularly sinful, its hardly fattening, and by god, girl, you're on a diet and depriving yourself of enough pleasurable things without cutting out coffee too!

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

No, unless you are having one of those fancy coffees (like Starbucks Frappacino) with lots of cream and sugar in it. The coffee itself is basically flavored water.

it is GREAt because it flushes the water out of you quicker and it is good for your health if taken in moderation. You have to be careful though because if you add too much creame and sugar you will get larger and if you use sweet n' low you are putting aspertame in your diet which promotes short term memory loss, weight gain and other life threatening/discomforting ailments. Good luck:) Drink black coffee, it works for me.

If you don't put fulll fat milk in it and sugar then it's good. In fact, caffein can increase your metabolism a little bit, which can contribute to weight loss. If you can't drink coffee on its own, then use a sweetener like splenda and skimmed milk.

As long as you aren't drinking more sugar than coffee you should be good for one or two mugs per day.
