I have had the same problem. In the end I got Rick Gallop's books and they give you loads of recipes. You could get then from the library. I have not learnt to adapt all my old recipes to GI and it is quite easy. Just cut down meat and add veg.

My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.
On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.
The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!
Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.
Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.
Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

there should be a few diet site which are free although some sites do charge so as they can send you leaflets etc etc. There are a few really good books in the GI diet around and they will work out cheaper so my advice would be to go and buy one of them.
The diet itself is easy enough to follow: i have been on it now for a few weeks and can still eat a lot of my fav foods

There are plenty of free help available. You can search websites for calories in foods, fat content of foods and the likes. You can even get free calculators to calculate your ideal weight, calorific needs per day and how much calories you burn whilst doing a specific exercise or task. Weight loss is very simple in theory: You need to consume less in calories than what you need or you can create the calorific deficit by exercising. There's no miracle diet there to get rid of fat, just make sure your output is higher than your input then you will definitely lose weight.
