Sounds exactly the same as the cyst my husband had. They are not dangerous, but you can have it removed if you like. It will not go away on it's own. You either need to have it removed, or just live with it. My husband has a 1-inch long scar from the removal.

It is more than likely to be a sebaceous cyst. This can easily be removed by a doctor, but there is a possibility of it returning. Only the doctor can decide if it may be something else.

I have had 3 such "lumps" which turned out to be benign cycts. A dermatologist is a good place to start. All 3 gradually increased in size to about 3 cm --- at which time the determatologist removed them. Medicare covered cost of 10 minute procedure. The determatologist willl submit biopsies to a lab, so you can stop worrying.

Sounds like a cyst and if the doctor says so, I would stick with that. Keep an eye on it and if doesn't grow or change colour....you should be OK

I had a sebaceous cyst near my ear on my jaw bone. It kept bursting and i could smell it. Was paranoid other people could too....it was a white sticky sort of thick mush that came from it. In the end i had a local anaethetic and had it removed....no problems.

I have had one around the same place for 25 years. The doctor told me not to worry about it unless it grew. It has stayed the same so I just forget about it.

Nobody can be sure, until you go and see the doctor. It's probably nothing to worry about, but it's best to get it checked.
