I used it to answer a question on here only a few moments ago actually. I still find it has a frequent use in my daily vocabulary. How can you not use such an awesome word often?!

Language does change and new word are spawned. Take the word PINTA. It is now in the Oxford dictionary.
One word that really grates on me is Basically. It is over used by people to start a sentence and finish a sentence. It has become a new punctuation mark. In most cases it is an unnecessary word to use. Listen to some one when they use it and say the same sentence without it. You will see what I mean.

It was a very misused word in the first place! Things like the Grand Canyon, York Cathedral, Niagra Falls ... Space ... are awesome! An Oreo cookie or a nice meal are definitely misrepresented if they are called that!
The trouble is that, as a Britisher with friends in the States, I was rather getting my head round its rather cute inappropriateness. I shall probably continue to use it from time to time and be laughed at for being hopelessly, Englishly out-of-date!

It's gone out of fashion! Word use changes all the time.
'Gay' now means something is rubbish as opposed to being a euphimism for homosexuality. Ah well, at least they haven't made it compulsory...

Language tends to change fast anyway, and when you have internet and television, not to mention all other media, people get bored much quicker, and want to change. What took five years before now takes mere months to appear and disappear.

I'm out of the loop, I thought people stopped saying "awsome" right after the second Bill and Ted movie.

Funnily enough, I had exactly the same conversation yesterday about the word 'groovy' - a word that is totally underused if you ask me!
