I am confident in that I know what i want and when i want it, but some take it as i am being a *****, which does not worry me most of the time.

that's nice thing that u r confident and a lady always should be confident. The men frightends with u b'coz u r confident and the Indian society is still dominating for women. They cannot tolerate at all the confident women. They every time find out the new ways to dominate u. But u hv to moving on yur way, and never loose yur confidence in any terms. Not everyone is confident, men or women, the fact is confidence can sometimes be construed as aggression especially if the other person hasn't got the same self-esteem you do. This is particularly true with women as men do have this complex where we naturally feel we should be the aggressors when it comes to meeting people, so the role reversal can be a little intimidating.

Bottom line: Confident Well Rounded Women need Confident Well Rounded Men

speaking as a man i think most men are afraid of confident women for 2 reasons. the first is that a confident woman will make the man think she will take control of all aspects of the relationship and this demeans the man.secondly most confident woman have climbed high in the career ladder which usually means they have highly paid jobs and the best that life has to offer, again this can scare a man off.

There is a real fine line between confident and what people see as *****. A former friend moved to the south from up north, and every body thought she was such a *****. I couldn't see it, then I realized that just her northern mannerism's (accent) were enough to through fool people.
Some times its not what you say or do as much as how other people see or think they see ya? All you can do is keep being you the world will get use to you.

Confident people in general can frighten others. Men OR women.

Many feel that they can't be as confident and see themselves in a lesser light. It could be a form of neurosis or mild persistent victim's syndrome where they have low self esteem and feel threatened easily.

Men mostly do not want a woman who is too confident because they think she might overtake them in everything but if you are less confident they abuse you and lose their respect for you. All you've gotta do is be yourself and be gentle in all you do and not be the all knowing girl. That sometimes freaks them out you know.

I dont know if you're a confident woman. But if you are then you shouldnt have asked this question in the first place.
And if it frightens men...maybe they just feel they're hopeless when they're with you (who is very confident). If you meet someone on your same level or more then it doesnt frighten men.
