why do people not care when they hear of police overstepping their boundries?

Don't people know that giving police more power, and the president more power creates a totalitarian state?

no i'm talking about illegal searches and breaking and entering (just happened to my friend, his roommates son was arrested in their house for MIP when no adults were present, they broke in a different roommates door who had a lock from the inside-a chain, then they tried to break in my friend's door, but the juvenile knew that the police need a search warrent to get past the lock or it is breaking and entering after he reminded them they stopped)

When i was a kid we were shooting hoops when a police officer showed up we were blamed for a vandalization by the person who called the cops she asked a different group of kids and they said it was us, my friend's younger brother right away asked for his parents to be present before he talks, but the officer refused, i tried to go get them but the officer told me to stay put.

We were at my house in a different town all day long, and just came back to this town an hour earlier, so i know my friends didn't do it i was with them for several days

spag, i said the cops stopped trying to break into the locked room, the lock was on the outside so it is obvious that there were no lawbreakers in there, and they still tried to kick it open once. as i said you would still need a warrent to get inside of that room and those cops tried to break in. end of story

Oh, I care alright, dear.

I have even gone as far as filing a grievance complaining about a pig that abused my 13 yr old child. But what the heck can anyone do against their code of silence? I volunteered a sworn statement, even wrote to the major of the town, legislators, and the governor of my state requesting a review of what their internal affairs determined found "no proof." Nobody could challenge it, because the pigs covered for each other.

So, who is to blame an angry citizen that takes it upon himself to stop the abuse of power and take out a cop? I mean, they should know better and be instruments of peace, not showing off power and control.

I'll have to assume that you are one of those that attempt to tell me how to do my job and then want to complain when I do it. If you are relying on the media to tell you about the "oversteppings" than you need to take the initiative to obtain accurate information. The media and newspapers are a "for profit" industry and not a service. The sell commercial time and print space. The more viewers they have, the higher the price and more profit. Posting headlines about police abuse is a great money maker. Lesson over.
If you want to learn about police powers, I suggest you get into the profession, even as a volunteer. Every court case where someone complains about their rights being infringed ends up tying the hands of those that protect people like yourself. Next time you get shot or beat to a pulp, please call your friends because I may overstep my boundaries in dealing with you. Good luck and I hope you get the research complete.

Additional: If you think your friends got the cops to stop looking around, you are dead wrong. Sounds like they shouldn't have been drinking (breaking the law) and that gives me all the authority I need to ensure the entire house is clear of lawbreakers!! That mean I can go into every room. Now, if I find something unrelated to the crime, then I may secure the house and obtain a warrant but I guarantee nobody will go into that house until I have a warrant and it has been searched for whatever I initially found.

Some do. But if you mean beating the **** out of gang bangers or child molesters, the best thing to do is give them the power to kill the assholes.

People should complain every false move of the police and president so that they will not abuse their power.
