Please see the webpages for more details on haematemesis. Liver function tests such as SGPT and SGOT should be conducted. Some times antidiabetic pills may affect the liver adversely.

Very high uncontrolled blood glucose induces diabetic coma or ketosis . This metabolic change is preceded by wretching and vomiting. If thre is mild gastritis or if a diabetic takes a bout of alcohol the gastritis thus caused or any undected ulcer in a diabetic also can result in haematemesis.

High blood sugar or diabetes, usually does not result in hematemesis. It may occur only when there is some associated disorder like hypretension.
