My girl friend informend me a week and a half ago of a discharge coming from her vigina she says that is a greenish and yellow color. Her last doctor has done poor jobs on her last visits. We have been together a little over a year now and we both had a scare and got checked about a yeast infection, and both had nothing. Im afraid that she might have something and that I could have got it but we havent had unprotected sex in over 8 months and she is getting the symptoms now. Could it have come from her exboyfriend, he has cheated on here a few time when they were together. I have only been with here in almost the past two years and I dont want to lose here but if she has something is there a way for a relation ship to make it and be normal. She is special and her ex has done her so wrong but could this change every thing about what we have

It sounds like Trihomonal vaginitis which is the color you describe:

'"Trichomonias, commonly called "trite" (pronounced "trick"), is caused by a tiny single-celled organism known as a "protozoa." When this organism infects the vagina is can cause a frothy, greenish-yellow discharge. Often this discharge will have a foul smell."

The treatment for both partners is antibiotics."

A doctor told me that it's possible for it to reside in a guy without the guy having any symptoms for quite some time, then passing it to a woman after a time. In either case, you'll both need to see the doctor as soon as possble becasue, if left untreated, it can evenutually cause sterility.

Vaginal discharge is normal and varies during your menstrual cycle. Before ovulation (the release of the egg), there is A LOT of mucous produced, up to 30X more than after ovulation. It is also more watery and elastic during that phase of your cycle. You may want to wear panty liners during that time.

The things to be worried about include if the discharge has a yellow or green color, is clumpy like cottage cheese, or has a bad odor. If worried, see a doctor.
Yellow or Green: May indicate an infection, especially if thick or clumpy like cottage cheese or has a foul odor.
She needs to see a doctor immediately.

If shes getting the symptoms now and youre having protected sex, then who else has she been with? hmmm

No, it didnt come from her ex, its been too long.

She needs to find a different doc and you both better get checked again. The tests they run at the doc, will tell you alot, either shes been messing around, and only she has it, or you both have it, but where did it come from?

I would wonder about her. Sorry dude.

You will both have to get checked out by a reputable DR. if you are worried. It is hard to say what is wrong. When in doubt you could go to the local health department. They use a sliding scale. They will probably have to run tests. Good luck
