My favorite toy was a stuffed cat I named Sam. He was covered with rabbit fur, and he never left my side.

As with Barbara's memory and favorites, Sam accompanied me to the hospital to have my tonsils removed.

I eventually wore the fur off him, and he was put away in my mother's cedar chest. Sam's long gone, but his memories remain

Joeygirl...On the night Max wore his wolf suit, and made mischief of one kind or another....I've had this entire book memorized for all these years. It's one of my favorites also.

I had a little stuffed dog that was the only toy my older sister couldn't take away from me. The first book I remember reading was Mouse Soup - and that was also my favorite. I had a friend from Kindergarten to 3rd grade, named Leo. He was like a protective older brother to me. He even stood up against my sister when she tried to attack me on the playground at school one day. My mom and Leo's mom were friends a little bit.

Mr. Duchovny,
"What Was Your Favorite?????"
If I can remember any of it!

"Childhood toy"; I think that it was one of those Mattel "Thing Maker." Where you got to make all sorts of creepy crawlers and my favorite one of those was the one where you make the parts of the silly looking dragons and then put them together.

"book". I was a young to mid teenager by the time that I went through The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, many times over. I remember reading without even coaxing myself into it. Inspiration to read them again would come on a mere whim. I would either pick out a part, like Helm's Deep, or the the adventures through the Misty Mountains, a lot of things like that. Any part at any time.

"song", I remember becoming attached to The Beatles for a long time. Then I started to experiment later on. But you said childhood. It seems to me that the Beatle song "Rain" for some reason really had an impact on me.

"friend", I had imaginary friends early on. I think that there were about 5 or so/ I would just make them up. Since my father would starve me at times, and we kept moving because he was feeling the pressure from the neighbors, I never had many childhood friends until I was adopted. By then I was 13 and was too weird for most people to consider a friend for long. (The sexual environment that my father unfortunately provided was leaking out in my behavior.)

Book: The Alchemist by Paolo Cochelo
Song: The Warrior is a Child by Gary valenciano
Friend: Numerous but few bestfriends

The book talked about the journey of the person towards finding his fortune or treasure. His hardships or misfortunes when trying to reach it. Only to find out that the treasure is just within his reach within his realm.

My favorite toy was a doll named Annabelle....she had beautiful hair and one day my brother (2 years older than me) wanted to cut my dolls hair...he said.."don't worry, it'll grow back...your hair grows back, doesn't it?" (compelling argument to a 3 yr old) So I agreed...She looked like an army Sgt. from that point on....funny thing is when we were cleaning out the storage from my mom's house (I was 23 at this point) I found Annabelle....walked into the room where my brother was and said..."it's been 20 years....and her hair hasn't grown back....you lied to me!!" ...then we both just cracked up laughing!!! My favorite book as a child was Where the Wild Things are by Maurice Sendak..(ok, I admit it, it's still a favorite that I read with my son!)

I guess my parents favorite toy of mine was a jack in the box, everytime it would pop out of that box it would scare me and I would throw it accross the room. they would bring it back and have me do it again and I would over and over again. But I did get my licks in, when I was about 10 I was messin with a model rocket in the house, and accidentally set if off. It was really cool cause as the rocket went into the living room I saw my mom levitate.(she had been napping on the couch) without moving a muscle she levitated off the couch, pivoted upright and started running in mid air!!! as the rocket left the living room it chaised me around the kitchen for a bit then turned into my bedroom made a couple of laps came out and ran out of steam and landed in the hall. when mom finally came back down to earth she made skid marks in the carpet, but when she finnally caught traction, oh boy was I in trouble!!I thought it was pretty cool to have perfomed a miracle like levitation though, nobody else in the house saw the humor in it though.

Well that ties into your previous question. It is the Mrs. Beasley doll I got when having my tonsils out. Even being the tomboy I was I never took that doll off my bed til I was 16, she was put away and I recently brought her back out again to stay.
