on the inside of your mouth, these are usually canker sores, not herpes. I say usually because there are always exceptions. Herpes usually manifests on the lips and area right around it externally, much less frequently on the inside of the mouth
Canker sores look different than herpes sores too. Canker sores are an autoimmune ulceration that some people are just prone to, and can get them anywhere on the inside of the mouth. They're very common, and cannot be treated, other than good mouth hygene and waiting for them to go away.

you can get herpes sores inside your mouth, but they aren't the same as traditional cold sores. they're probably apthous ulcers (canker sores) but could be a lot of different things. if you look in your mouth and see a sore with a whitish center and bright red edges, that's most likely a canker sore. you could also have bitten or chewed your cheek.

Usually happens on the outside of the mouth/nose and inside of the nose. Inside of the mouth could be a canker sore.
