Kiwis are harvested before they are fully ripe. Select firm fruit that yield to gentle pressure and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks

To ripen, let kiwis stand at room temperature in a plastic bag. Placing a ripe apple or banana in the bag will hasten ripening. The fruit is fully ripe when it feels slightly soft and develops a distinctive fruity aroma and the flesh looks translucent. Ripe kiwis will keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

It shouldn't be squishy at all or rock-hard. I can tell when i eat the kiwi with a spoon and scoop it out after cutting the kiwi in half. If it is impossible to scoop out, its not ripe yet.

You need to feel it. It's ripe when it's firm but a little soft. Don't wait until it is really soft.

Push your thumb into your calf, muscle tensed. That's how the kiwi should feel. Not squishy--- not rock hard. Enjoy!

When you squeeze it lightly, if it squishes it is overripe, but if it is firm, it is perfect. Also, if you cut it in half and it is white it is not ripe yet. If it is light green it is perfect, and if it is dark green it is overripe.

it should be soft, leave a slight indentation when you press, but if the skin breaks, its too ripe.
