When it comes to the Bible, many parts are open for interpretation (like the Genesis) but as far as it stating what's right or wrong it's usually pretty clear. Violence is wrong. Fornication is wrong. Rape is wrong. Stealing is wrong. Dishonesty and betrayal is wrong.

However...don't you think there are exceptions? If a man steals to feed his family, is that immoral? If a soldier has to defend in war or
a person has to beat or kill someone for self defense, is that immoral?(I think war per se is immoral but that doesn't make the individual soldier immoral)

Only God knows this for sure, but I'm taking a leap of faith and guessing that people born gay are an exception too. How could something be a sin if it's out of their control? I know of many moral gay people with good upbringings who make better Christians than many straight people. I know them too well and highly doubt that they CHOSE to be this way. I find that ridiculous and illogical.

From my point of view I find nothing harmful about a monogamous gay relationship. As long as they’re decent people who are naturally gay, and aren’t promiscuous…I apply the same standards to gays as I do to heterosexuals. All sins either harm the people who commit them and/or directly or indirectly harm other people but I don’t see how a monogamous gay relationship would harm anyone.

Umm actually it's heterosexual FORNICATORS that have spread the most disease. Heterosexual fornicators are the real problem- the biggest problem. How could someone be against being gay while sleeping around outside of marriage? You really need to take a look at yourselves.

The bible makes many exceptions. God gave the Hebrews the commandment not to kill, but then has them slaughter the Canaanites so they can take over "the holy land". Other commandments warn not to steal, lie and disobey you parents, yet Jacob does all 3 to get Essaw's birthright and God approves.

As for homosexuality, I wouldn't be the least bit suprised if God accepts some gays.

The Bible makes it absolutely crystal clear that homosexuality is wrong. This is not a matter of interpretation. This is a matter of reading what has been written, and all the revisionism in the world won't change that.

By all means incorporate sufficient liberality in to your own philosophical and ethical landscapes to make allowances for homosexuality, and even to encourage it if that is what flips your proverbial fritter. But please, don't try to re-write the Bible, or to spin what it says under the aegis of interpretation. That sort of thing really doesn't help.

Homosexuality and Christianity don't mix.

That is the cut and the shut of the matter.

As for the comment about how something can be a sin if the sinner has no control over it, perhaps you'll hang on to that thought the next time some vile little rapist declares: "I could help it! She was dressed like a slag so I just had to rape her!"

Sin starts with letting base urges get out of control. Everything that happens after the fact is concomittant to that first error. And trying to justify what can only ever be wrong by blaming a loss of control is to just throw in the towel and let every deviant and pervert under the sun do whatever they want, whenever they want without blame of fear of reprisal.

Contrary to popular myth, people born homosexual are not special or precious. They get to make their choices, just like everybody else. But they should also live with the consequences of those choices. Which boils down to a very simple equation.

If you are a homosexual either go celibate and do the Christian thing or yield to the impulses and accept that Christianity has no place for you at that table. But don't try to say you're some kind of exception to the rule, and that if the Bible says something you don't like it's okay to try to re-write it.

I agree with you that some people are born bent. But just like everybody born straight they have a choice. They do not have to do sex.

Personally, it doesn't matter a toss to me which way homosexuals choose to go. I just can't stand the type of mentality that tries to move the goalposts to compensate for the weaknesses of the players instead of getting the players to improve their game to cope with where the goalposts are meant to be.

The rules of the house are the rules of the house. Homosexuals need to abide by them or leave, just like everybody else.

Yes! I have no problem with gay people, but I see your point. I agree that the Bible is written in a way that personal interpretation is the only possible way to read the book.

If I had no choice but to join the army and kill or be killed.....I'm guessing I'd be learning how to fire that weapon pretty darn quick. Not everything is choice!

Nice question!!

If someone steals to feed thier family, then they are not trusting in God to provide, so yes it is wrong. We have men and women fighting for our country, killing people right now becuase of 9/11. Thats a hard subject to back up with scripture. I believe that the terrorists that we are fighting cannot be controlled by love and mercy, but by force. I support the war, and what we are doing, but again this is my opinion.

People are not born gay. It is a deception by the devil in his effort to spread disease and pervert Gods great gift of sex. Sex was NEVER meant for people of the same sex, thats why we have diseases like HIV present in this world. People choose to be gay, they choose to do it, even if at a young age, because satan got a hold of them. People do have control over thier sexuality, if they have faith in the Lord, and dont give into the devils temptations.

I think most everyone who believes and reads the bible make their own interpretations to it. That's why when they find something about someone or something in society they don't like they take a verse from the bible and make their own interpretations and think that makes them right and it don't!

Those that love death HATE GOD-bible.
so, This displays that God is not the author of confusion.......
that is same sex NON procreating relationships.

If you were satan, and could use one thing to deceive the population of humanity (after all WE ARE MADE IN THE IMAGE AND LIKENESS OF THE LORD,......SO HE KINDA GETS MAD EVERY TIME HE SEES ONE OF US, LET ALONE A TRUE BELIEVER - A CHRIST LIKE PERSON THAT IS)

....you would tell them to NOT HAVE CHILDREN.
AS A FEMALE IT IS AMAZING YOU WOULD PROMOTE same sex union. YOU ARE PROMOTING THE DEATH OF THE HUMAN RACE, AS IN WITHIN A 100 YEARS.

You see, this is just another dillusional form of deception like evolution is...that death (or mans ways) are better than their creators. REVELATION 21:8
LIFE IS ETERNAL...BETTER TAKE THE TIME TO READ THAT ONE AGAIN. (after all, we all have free will) -LIVE4TRUTH =]

I think being a gay it is not easy to control. Indeed somehow our life on the Earth is a test for us. How we will complete this test- we will be judged.

Some people are blind, it is test for them, some of them are disable or live in poverty. They still try to lead their life correctly.
Somebody is a gay- it is a kind of test for him. If it is forbidden or sin to be gay, gay people should CONTROL themself.

If God wanted to bring a special point of excuse for gays he would mentioned in Holy scripture about that ( i mean their sexual life excuse) etc..
But God said it is sin to be a gay, so gay people should not go astray and excuse themself..

some people cloak their bigotry in the bible so they can live with their hate and feel justified for it

but bigots SMELL BAD ... and you cant hide that stink

(by the way: that "love the sinner, hate the sin" thing dont cut it. clever little religious sayings dont show love .. love is demonstrated by ACCEPTANCE, and caring for someone elses well-being)
