I heard that if i had used the same soap or drank after her then i could contract these diseases. What are any of the possibilities?

I can honestly answer this question because I actually do have both herpes and HPV.

HPV is mainly transmitted by sexual contact. So, unless you are having some sort of sexual skin to skin contact with your roommate chances are REALLY rare you will get it.

With genital herpes, it's also mainly passed by sexual contact. You won't get it from a toilet seat, or shower, or a swimming pool, etc. It's only passed by direct skin to skin contact and sex. So, again, unless you are having some sort of sexual contact with that person, chances are REALLY rare you will get the virus.

Cold sores are more easily spread (herpes simplex virus 1). Cold sores CAN be spread by sharing a drink with someone who has cold sores, sharing lipstick, chap stick, a cigarette, etc. Cold sores are most easily passed by just being kissed by someone who has them.

I've had both viruses for over 5 years now. I lived with my two younger brothers for most of those 5 years and they have NEVER contracted the viruses from me. They took showers after me, ate food after me, used the bathroom, you name it, and neither one of them have either virus. Same with close friends and family members. They've used the restroom after me or ate after me and they never contracted herpes or HPV from me. You really don't have anything to worry about!

***Also, RichUnclePennybags, is just completely wrong! Herpes is NOT HPV, and by the way you wrote your question I have a feeling you already knew that. I am amazed at how many people answer questions on HPV and herpes and think they are the same thing!

****Hey I tried emailing you once I saw your answer to another question I answered. I think you might have your email communications off. Try turning it on by clicking "My Q&A" and then "Edit My Info" and then try and email me. Hopefully that will work then!

I got diagnosed with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about 4 years back, whilst I was still in college and had a stupid one-night stand. I know lots of young women say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a mistake that one time and suddenly it seemed like I was going to have to live with the implications for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. After all, who wants to go out with a girl who has sores round her private parts? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/fxMhO everything improved.

Not only was I able to eliminate all remnants of the herpes simplex virus from my body in less than 3 weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so blessed to write that just a week ago, in front of everyone in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This system provided the chance to be happy and experience real love again. Now I want to help others by sharing this story.

You won't get it either of those ways. These viruses are spread skin to skin. You need to either touch her in a place where the virus lives (you know, like sex) or touch her hand after she has masturbated or something like that. Just to be on the safe side I wouldn't wear her dirty underwear or use her washcloth if she just used it on her private parts. The virus will not live on soap and unless she gets cold sores (usually a different form of herpes but you can't tell which type by looking), you should be fine drinking from the same glass.

My best friend has had genital herpes for about eight months now, and it's been really rough. She's had about 7 outbreaks. Everywhere I read it says it stops flaring up so much after time, but its not getting less frequent for her. She's been on Antiviral meds the whole time, too. She also has type 1 diabetes which she has had her whole life, which really weakens her immune system. Will it ever get better?

But after a friend share this video everything has changed.

HPV is so common. You can catch HPV from seating in the same toilet, if the person touched their private area and touched you with it. etc. You'll probable be more likely to contract hpv than herpes.

Only if you think you can play along safely. If that seemed possible, then I'd try a head-fake: "Hear that? -- it's the fire alarm, the fire department is on their way. Yes, I'm quite sure." And so on. Failing that, you might have to distract the person just long enough for you to get away and call the paramedics. Generally speaking, though, since you have a right not to be harmed and an obligation to protect yourself, it's best to stay out of someone else's delusion.

Herpes is transmitted through the exchange of bodily fluid, usually when the condition is prevelant and active. Herpes is easily detected on a fella, but hard to see on a girl. It can get into the mouth through oral too, mmm, nasty!
