I've heard that self-masturbation is a healthy activity. However, I've also read that diseases like HPV (the one with warts) and others are caused by skin-to-skin contact during sex: the infected skin of one-person rubs against the skin of the other person and transfers the virus. So, just out of curiosity, can't your hand (if it happens to have the virus on it...but not necassarily infected by it) transmit the disease.

Or what if a person's really horny and start rubbing themselves on and humping, I dunno, use your imagination: germs are everywhere: can't they possibly get a std?

Basically, can virgins get STDs (except crabs 'cause they can be transmitted by sharing of underwear...gross) if only engaging in self-masturbation?

I know, it sounds stupid, but I'm really curious. Hmm...

Thanks.

Most germs cannot live long in the open air or away from the body.

You have to come in contact with something that is infected to give yourself an STD.

Diseases like that via masturbation are rare indeed

There is a lot of irrelevant citation in different religious thinking. Masturbation is one. Sex with animals is another. Then come the pigs, and domestic animals, what not. Well if masturbation is a sin, you are convinced do'nt do it. When you get overrun with pressure of pelvic relief, what source you have if not married is the question. Commit rape, flirt and get satisfaction from known/unknown persons, when married or husband is away or when not married getting depression due to sexual hormonal pressures. In my opinion, religious thinking does not help against it. Do it instead of over self control and suppression and falling a victim to your own thinking. If you still feel sinned get salvation by loving Nature, rather than confessing elsewhere and salvaging yourself by paying for it and then to do it again.

Most STDs are transmitted by contact with the bodily fluids of an infected person. However herpes can be contracted if you happen to have an active sore on your face, and touch your genitals without washing your hands first.
I tend to get coldsores under stress, so my partner understands he's not getting any sex until I'm completely healed since I don't want to pass it to him.

Better to go for the real thing, banging the fist is good but nowhere near the same feeling as sinking into a wet one, if you have active herpes then all the better.
