I am not sure about what you want sugar water for. The other answers are saying tea!?I am from NE Texas. I use sugar water for sore throats and allergy sinus drainage sore throats.I put 2 tblsps of sugar in 8 oz of cool water and then have the sick person sip it as needed. Sugar is a wonder for healing. It is also used on cuts& injuries and they heal quicker and with less scaring. If it is iced tea you are asking about- I use one Lipton (tried many but stick to Lipton)family size teabag and heat the water with it until just a good boil and turn the water off and let it set for a few min. to get the full flavor. Then I add it to a one gallon pitcher with about 1 cup -1 1/3 c sugar, fill with water, and stir.(Pour over a glass full of ice while still hot for a wonderful swirled warm-cold smooth taste)My old neighbor gets 2 gallons of tea out of a 4lb. bag of sugar! It is like thick syrup but her kids and grandkids love it. I don't understand how she only weighs 89 lbs herself. She eats sweets and drinks her tea all of the time! I use green tea for my grandkids with a little less sugar and they like it . They always want Gramby's tea! I hope I helped!

If it's simple syrup you're talking about, that is 2 cups sugar and 1 cup water over low heat until sugar is dissolved, store in refrigerator. You can use it to sweeten as you go, making your tea as sweet or as little sweet as you like it. You can also use it in many different recipes.

Do you mean simple syrup? Cook sugar in water until it dissolves. For iced tea we just add sugar to the tea while it's still hot.

I am from virginia and I dont like iced tea, so I cant tell you what I put in mine. But I can tell you about a roommate I had. He was from tennessee and made sweet tea all the time. In a one gallon jug he would put almost 2 cups of sugar in with two tea bags. I never understood it.
