i dont know how original it is but i have had shall i say some "weird" foods.
~camel soup~ (very chewy but good)
~goat brains~ (will never eat that one again)
~tequila lollypop with a worm inside~ (no comment)
~snake~ (didnt taste too bad)
~deer~ (wouldnt mind having it again)
~caviar~ (not bad with crackers)

original?
I experiment with food a bit ... so I've got a whole bunch of my own concoctions.
My strawberry/chilli frozen sorbet is pretty good, team that with deep fried sugar cane fritters and you've got something pretty darn tasty and new.
Asian deep-fried mushrooms are good, I ate dog in China (unbeknowst to me) which was definitely 'original' for my palate. Love eels, possum, eat a lot of kangaroo. someone served me snouts in corn broth once, which I had to eat to be polite ...
Not sure about original, but definitely 'odd' - a friend once served up an entire four course meal that was blue... Even our drinks were blue... I'm sure I could have eaten more blueberry icecream, had I not just downed blue fish, blue potatoes and blue peas with blue garlic bread...

Pizza in Jerusalem baked with chicken drumsticks on top of it. It was very odd looking, but yummy. I also had lambs intestines stuffed w/lamb, rice and seasonings. Both made by the same woman, my Arab neighbor.

The worst thing I had was in Mexico. Pork rinds soaked in hot sauce so they were HOT and slimey! I swallowed and didn't ask for more!

Cow tounge, raw fish (sushi), gator (pass, it was like chewy, grizzly pork), squid, snails (were gritty), raw pork (Hackepeter). Froglegs in garlic sauce (french) and fried frog legs (chinese). Go for it, they are not slimey or anything. Texture is close to chicken only more tender.

I went to a sushi place the other day and they had a signature dish on special called "sushi pizza"....It may sound gross to some, but it was actually a very clever idea. It was assorted cooked fish and vegetables wrapped in seaweed paper, but it was made to look disc-shaped (not your typical maki "roll"), dipped in tempura, fried and sliced up just like a pizza. It was delicious!! For those of you who go to Ca-ca Bell...er, I mean TACO BELL, it looked just like those nasty little "crunchwrap supremes" except this was sliced into wedges.

Deep fried alligator. It was breaded and spiced and tasted a bit like pork and I though I was chewing on an rubber tire inner tube it was so tough. But, it was really tasty.
