Okay I have been having this strange feeling that there's something stuck in my throat. I went to the doctor and he checked it and said everything looks normal. He also felt my neck and normal. I recently got a STD test and it was negative, Thank God, and also asked him if it could be related to that, and he said no. But now it's really bothering me each time I swallow. It's not painful, I can still eat and drink, but it's always there. It's going to be a week now. It's not a swallon lymp node or sore throat, because if it was I wouldn't be able to drink and eat. My breath has become a bit smelly. I have tried all the doctor said to do, but nothing. Any idea what it is? Oh and I have a whitehead near my inner thigh, so don't know if they are related or not. Probably not.

Even the slightest swelling in our throat can feel huge.

Possibilities include esophageal problems, such as a stricture or Zenker's diverticulum, which could be diagnosed by an EGD (upper endoscopy). It could also be secondary to gastric reflux, which can cause esophagitis and swelling up as high as your throat. (I had that, and it felt like a lump in my throat - when the reflux was treated, it got better)

You could also have something in your neck that cannot be felt from the outside. Presumably, your doctor felt for a thyroid nodule.

If it continues to bother you, I'd seek the help of an ENT or gastroenterologist.

Good luck!

Okay....let's look at this logically. Your Doctor has looked in your throat and has told you that there is nothing there....and you have recently had a test for STD's (which came back negative).I'm assuming you've recently had some form of sex that you aren't to sure of. Are you so worked up over doing something that you are ashamed of that you are now looking for some sort of punishment for?

Seriously......if you are really concerned and you aren't comfortable with what your Doctor has told you....go see another Doctor. Check the phone book for your city, get the number for the "sexual health clinic" and call them. Make an appointment and go tell them ALL the details of what is happening.

Good luck

Do you think that the doctors and nurses here can examine your throat through your monitor?

Of course not! So go back to your 3D doctor, and have him examine you again. If his answers still don't help you, get a second opinion from someone who can actually look in your throat.

And while you are waiting to get an appointment, read up on the symptoms of STDs, because I'd guess that what is stuck in your throat is your fear of having an STD.

Seriously, read about them! It will ease your mind and teach you how to avoid STDs, whether or not it helps your throat.

Whiteheads have nothing to do with your throat. Different body systems.
As for the lump in the throat, it is a common complaint of anxious people. This doesn't mean it isn't real - it is - just that it is likely that it is caused by anxiety. Anxiety can be treated in a variety of ways. Meditation is helpful, as are the martial arts.

Anxiety can do that. It could also be acid reflux. Take some deep breaths and stop worrying so much. Try some Pepcid.
