Feel bad for us? yes, as I would feel bad for anyone that is sick or needs extra medical attention.
Feel sorry for us NO Just love us for who we are.
Some people are so stupid that they think we bring this on are selfs. hey@ we did not ask for this and would gladly give it back any time any day!

No.
I am a Type 1 Diabetic. You can really take care of your Diabetes and still lead a happy and normal life. Its hard in the begining when your first diagnosed, but it becomes easier.
I do feel bad for infants who are born with this disease. There so young and don't know anything.

Yep, I am one! It is a more difficult syndrome than it is given credit for by many. We deal with such problems - we don't heal well, we get sick faster and easier, and so on. Plus, would you want to have to check your blood sugar sometimes 5x a day by sticking your finger? How about having to find a not sore spot on your tummy or thigh to inject insulin? Also, we can be fine one second and the next gone off into our own world having an episode, and they can be scarry. I don't feel sorry for myself - pitty myself - but I do think that the problems we experience are many times under rated by others who do not understand. For example, I almost died after having a c-section because my body would not heal due to the diabetes. I had to be in the ICU, and have a home health nurse for 8 months! All I say, is understand us ... don't pick on us.

I use to think that alot of diabetic problems were their own fault but until I had to experiences it myself when I was pregnant with my second child I realized it was harder then I knew and I learned to forgive my mother and eased up on my sister and I thank God daily for letting me experiences it and for letting me be OK after having my daughter. So now I can say yes I feel bad for them because how hard their life is and what they go through.

why would i feel bad for myself or anyone else? i live a perfectly wonderful life and i can eat anything i want just like anyone else. life would be a little more simple if i didnt have diabetes but i think that having such a responsibility proves me to be strong. this disease doesnt set me back at all. so dont feel bad for me or anyone because we live good lives. well at lest those of us who take care of ourselves properly.

I feel bad for type 1s. Since type 2s brought it on themselves, I have mixed feelings. I'm a type 2. My mother had it and I knew better than to plump up and drink, but I did anyway. Being a type 2 really isn't so bad if you take care of yourself, though. The ones that continue to abuse their bodies are the ones I have the most mixed feelings about. In a way I sympathize with them, but on the other hand, they know better and should take better care of themselves. So, I guess, the answer to your question would be yes and no.
omapat seems to be confusing the term stupid with enlightened.
