It's possible but REALLY rare.
Herpes simplex virus 2 (typically genital herpes) is usually spread by some sort of sexual contact. Vaginal sex, oral sex, and anal sex can all spread it. Also, direct skin to skin contact with a person who has it, like "dry humping".
Herpes simplex virus 1 (typically cold sores) is most commonly spread by just simply being kissed by someone who has cold sores.
Unless you were born with it (which is REALLY rare) or have had some sort of sexual contact with someone who has it chances are you DO NOT have genital herpes.
If you are really concerned you can always get tested for herpes, it's just a simple blood test.
It's always possible you may have a different STD, like HPV, which can cause genital warts. There is no test for men to detect HPV, but doctors can apply a vinegar type solution to the warts to see if that is what they are. You shouldn't try this at home though! Visit your doctor, I'm sure they will be able to help you out more. Good luck!

im not sure HOW u could possibly have contracted herpes...which ur symptoms certainly sound like if u have NEVER had any sexual contact. The only way i think it could happen is if u have has cold sores on ur mouth and u have transferred the infection which is very possible. Most people are born with the herpes simplex 1 virus as it is past down genetically...(even if uve never had a cold sore on ur mouth u could still be a carrier) but for u to have transferred the infection it would have had to been active to begin with. The best idea is really to go to the doctor and get the sores swabbed so u know for sure what it is and treatment can be provided.

I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. I am so scared that I can give it to my children by kissing them and them eating with me...I feel like my whole life has changed. And even though the nurses, my doctor, and websites say that a lot of people have it I still feel like I am by myself. My self esteem has dropped and I feel like I have been used up. But now, My life is very happy.

Its possible, but keep in mind there are several diffent types of herpes and not all are contracted sexually. Shingles, for example, is a form of herpes but you can contract it by being exposed to it anywhere (clothing, doorknobs) that an infected person touched. You could have gotten it on your hand and then touched your penis... But you need to see a DOCTOR!!! to find out for sure what it is and be treated.

Herpes viruses are contagious. Contact may occur directly, or through contact with infected razors, towels, dishes, and other shared articles.
Please see the webpages for more details and images on Herpes simplex.

I don't think it is herpes, does the bumps ever crust over? Maybe if you're not circumcised you're not keeping it clean enough.
