Do you feel that you will have no responsiblity toward God and the course of your life?

This is with no disrespect intended, remember the people in the days of Noah who were taking no note when the flood came.

I hope that whatever your belief is that your own personal life is happier than the sour note that some of your answers imply. This does not apply to all the answers because some of them are very honest and respectful. The point here in yahoo is for discussion. Thank you!

Achtung, you have a point, when people say they are atheists or agnostic they are in effect saying they "believe" that they don't "believe" because of their own theory, or that what they believe in is some unexplained higher power that they owe no responsiblity to, but to just exist,

Actually, both Atheism and Agnosticism really *ARE* religions, inasmuch as "religion" is simply a system of theological beliefs.

Admittedly, not all adherents of those two systems of theological beliefs capitalize the name of their "religion". Still, there seems no reason to shy from the truth that both Atheism and Agnosticism are religions.

I'm not Atheists or agnostic but i have studied the base ideas of them when i was in my youth. And one thing you have to understand is that Atheists and agnostics are two different sets of people with two different ideas on religion.

Most Atheists simply don't believe. They don't think there is a higher power (no matter the name you give it), no evil power, no afterlife. They believe only in life as they see it. That what we have now is all there is. A 9-5 with a family life.

Agnostic are completely differnt. They believe there is a higher power, an ulitmate evil, the afterlife and so on. They believe there might be but they do not acknowlegde it and have it rule their life. They are open to other people having beliefs but they themselves do not follow them.

I know it may be confusing to some people but Atheists and agnostics are completely differnt people. I hope this clears somethings up.

Freedom is the keyword here. We have the freedom to believe in whatever we want. Nobody or nothing can take away the way we choose to believe or feel about anything. So my answer is yes it is possible for a person to be nuetral as far as religion goes.
Being right or wrong for that is another thing.

Yes.Agnostics and atheists usually do.It's too bad that religious people don't feel the same way. They say they're spreading Gods word but they're not. They're spreading what a fictional book written by men says.
If you believe in some higher being, great.More power to you.Just keep it to yourselves.

Why do you think we care about your Noah story?

Most atheists live in Asia (Buddhism and Taoism) and have never heard that story. You need to realize that the rest of the world does not revolve around your Bible.

If we believed your Noah story...we wouldn't be agnostics and atheists...HELLO!

I feel no responsibility toward a god in whom I don't believe, nor do I believe that lions lived peacefully with antelope on an ark for one day, let alone forty days.

I'm agnostic. I feel that if there is a God, none of the current religions portray him correctly.

If there is a God, that will be something him and I will discuss when I meet him.

The phrase "responsibility toward god" is meaningless to me. I take complete responsibility for the course of my life and don't attribute it's success or lack thereof to any diety. Simple enough?

you got another bait question you sick little toad. Your god is actualy a frog you being decietful will not tell us you replicating a human form to conspire to kill humans. So do this get all of your religious friends tell them they are toads and they must die because I have orders from the clone facility manager and this is what he insisit must be done, and start killing them.

Sure - a person could be neutral.

I chose to be an atheist because there is no proof to back up the god story.
