I think it has something to do with the Mafia. But I won't pass judgment on a whole group of people on account of a few bad apples. I respect the Italian people & I'm about as red-blooded an American as you'll find anywhere.
Italians have given us some of the best food in the world. Some of the greatest artists in history were Italian. Like Leonardo da Vinci - that man was a true genius. Then there was the Roman Empire. Although it eventually brought about its own downfall, it was arguably the greatest ancient civilization that ever was. The Romans contributed greatly to engineering & architecture. Their language, Latin, was the basis for many modern languages. Their alphabet was a model for the English alphabet.
In short, the Italian people have contributed much to the world.

I never heard of Italians having a bad name....what gave you that idea???
Do you judge someone because they eat pizza and Lasagna....and surely that's not the only thing Italians are "famous" for !!!

pizza is american. how about bauna caulda. how about dimaggio,yogi berra, the roman friggin empire. without that, engineering would be today where it actually was back then, hell the english STILL might not have sewers.
and besides community planning which they practically invented and Definitely perfected, (the legions built a town in a fortification every night before sleeping) they built the first cannons(actually just MASSIVE slings,) they were the first to use IN battle strategy, replacing the front line and getting new swords to the front every 2-3 minutes, they had the first SENATE. and practically every empire that has come since has compared itself to them. they were the first greatest. that has to count for something.
