Don't ask Y!A. Get to a doctor and discuss it with him/her. Maybe it's only sleep apnea that can be cured, but in any case, DO IT TODAY.

Good Luck

Old question but I just saw it. You don't say what kind of heart problem you have but I have heart failure. Had a series of heart attacks about 10 years ago. The damage from then has caught up to me in the form of heart failure.

It is very common with a weak heart that is not pumping blood well, to have fluids back up, in and or around the lungs. You can wake up often at night feeling like you cant get a breath.

I use pillows to prop myself higher up and that helps alot. Of course it makes it harder to sleep but what do you do.

You might tell your doc, and ask them if maybe a diuretic would help. I take lasix when it gets bad. That gets fluid out of the body pretty quick, but makes you pee every 20 minutes too.

good luck

I breathe hard as soon as I think I must have some good lovemaking, all the way till around 10 minutes after I have been fully orgasmed.

It improved my heart no end. I love my hubby more each day.

Your room is not cross ventilated. That causes asthma and difficulty in breathing. If you can't open the window, then open the door or both possibly. The most important advice is, never sleep in a closed tight room.

I breath deeply and loudly in my sleep too. I don't have a heart condition, just athsma. I find if my head is elevated higher, I make less noise. But if you are really concerned, consult a doctor.

It is possible you are hyperventilating. The next time this happens take a paper bag and breathe into and out of it. This will increase the CO2 level in your blood and will fix your problem if it is hyperventilation

your airways (bronchi) become closed which makes it harder for you to breathe or makes you wheeze, it could be heart related but I'd get it checked out with your GP. He or she will be able to tell you if it;s the airways or not - by the sound of it, it's likely to be the airway than the heart, but still get it checked out!!
