Globalization has made people more adventurous and their tastebuds are proof of the need, first and foremost, for all things delicious!
Most people feel safe and comfortable with american fast food, italian, indian, chinese, thai, japanese, malay, middle eastern, mexican or greek. The list is getting bigger as more and more cuisines become available to us.
But does the best food belong to one culture or even a single country?
The french are renowned for their preparation and appreciation of good food. Ask them and they will say their cuisine is 'zee best'. They have two whole lunch hours devoted to it, while we harried souls grab a bite at the nearest deli or put together our own sub sandwiches.
So it's each man for himself.Besides, who doesn't like mom's cooking...?

You can never go wrong with Italian, but Greek food is my current favorite. And if it's done right, Indian food rocks!

OK first i would have to agree with efel, and so I have been always willing to try new food, and most food here in the US are very influenced by by others, Chinese food here is different from what they eat in China.
I have had real Japanese food and there is nothing like it I have fond in any restaurant here. (friend, from Japan made it) so to pick I would have to pick this.
NA o:)

I would have to say Mexican food. I love it but then again I was raised with it. I love all ethnic foods and have tried most about all of them. My second choice will have to be Japanese. I love that stuff.

Chinese, any day. It runs the gamut from mild (Cantonese) to "blow your tonsils right out of your throat" spicy (Schzewan or Hunan.)
Chinese uses just about any type of meat, veggie, or fruit that you can think of, and the possibilities are endless. Can't beat all that!

Personally I'm quite partial to Thai cuisine, but I have a new found interest in Afghan dishes.
