Technically, they shouldn't, thus don't. If they knew, vegans wouldn't.

I'm a vegetarian because of my personal ethics and I avoid eating fried foods at non-vegetarian restaurants. If a person is a vegetarian for health reasons, they might not be as concerned about this, although eating food that's been fried in oil that's already been used to prepare other food doesn't sound very healthy, does it?

Yogini has a good answer - reusing oil just sounds gross anyhow.

If you have two seperate cooking places for the vegan food and meat food, and the oil is vegetable or olive oil, then no, i don't have a problem.

But if you're cooking vegan foods in animal fat, lard, etc...*that* is a no-no. The word "lard" even sounds disgusting. say it to yourself a few times. Not exactly friendly-sounding, eh? hahaha

I am a "super" vegan..
I only eat vegetables in their most concentrated form..
As meat from herbivores...
