You could, but there are many people who get lung cancer and have never smoked or been exposed to second-hand cigarette smoke.

You can get lung cancer without ever even smoking. Quitting smoking greatly increases the chance of not getting lung cancer.

First, of all no one should be smoking a cigarette at all!! Just smoking one cigarette will change your life. Smoking for a year and a half could give you a good possiblity of lung cancer.

Yes. You may get lung cancer. However, quitting will reduce your chances of getting the disease, as will staying out of establishments with 2nd hand smoke.

On top of possibly getting cancer, you also have to worry about high blood pressure, heart disease, emphazema, bad breath, on top of all the money you waste.

BTW, I was a smoker for 7+ years. Quit now while you can.

You can get lung cancer and never light up a cigarette or you could smoke for 50 years and not get it.. It's just the luck of the draw if you ask me. I believe if it's in your gene's you'll get it whether you smoke or not, though the chances are slim that you'd get it from only smoking a year...

Every person has cancer cells in their body. It all depends on your body's make up whether or not you can get cancer. Even if you don't smoke there are other things that can cause it.

you greatly decrease your chances by quitting and allowing lung tissue to repair itself, but anyone can get lung ca smoker or not.
