my husband got hep B from a one night stand, and included in the blood work was test for hiv aids which he tested negative. is there a possibility that this hiv will appear later on in life? we had sex a few weeks after that encounter, u think i should test myself too? i was positive for hepB antibodies (w/o any vaccination) but that was a long time ago. should i test for hepB as well? thanks.

well, ur husband could be in the window period, thats the time when ur tests come out negative but u r still infected with the virus, the period id generally for about 3 months, so ask him to get another test done after 3 months and then 6 months if all are negative then he does not have HIV.
and u too get urself tested for hepB and HIV.
it'll be better to be on the safer side.
take care and good luck.

First take a booster shot for the Hep B. As for the HIV, yes the virus can show up later in life. It is sometimes hidden and well you have to play is safe now. Make sure you are using protection for at least 6 months after the encounter. After the six months have him take another test and then if his results are negative you are OK. But make it a routine to take blood test every 6 months.

YES OH GOD YES
and do it now and keep on testing for it
he might have given you this and it's not good.
I'm a RN and see this all the time and know first hand about this.
please get tested for it soon and if you still want to have sex with him you know what to wear. it's called a rubber.

yes,yes and yes. i am sorry. i guess you can't find it in this world the way to get out, even though he has, as you've said passed on his std to you, get out of what you thought was a happy home. i do understand you might say he's yours and you love him, that's all good and it all may be meant to be this way. you guys have contracted these things and now you may as well spend the rest of your days and nights together. there really isn't anything out there anyway. i'll tell you what a long passed friend said once;"they're all the same ***, it's which one you like best"
continue on filling up your parentheses,on planet school. go in peace and may God be with you...
